Gopher gets re-charged with its new Marketing Effort
Ever wonder what happens to your car battery after it quits? I
did too, until I started working with Gopher Resource Corporation.
The Eagan-based company is a leader in the battery recycling industry,
QS 9000 certified, and the first in their industry to achieve a
ISO 14001 certification level.
The Problem
When Mark Kutoff and John Tapper contacted me, they had a goal in
mind of jumpstarting their marketing. The company faced a highly
competitive market that was dominated by a few mega-sized competitors.
To respond, both Mark & John wanted a marketing firm to help
focus their marketing strategies so they could differentiate Gopher
against its competitors.
The Solutions
The project had several phases including:
- 1-on-1 customer research interviews with Gopher's customers
- A comprehensive marketing audit including a marketing report
card
- A strategic marketing plan
Later, Emerge was invited back to assist the company with its
due diligence efforts on an acquisition candidate.
The Benefits
In the end, Gopher got:
- A comprehensive marketing & sales plan for its 4-member
marketing/sales staff
- Marketing expertise to help with its due diligence efforts
- A positioning strategy that will help Gopher stand out in a
competitive field.
*The lead from your spent battery is recycled and sold back to
car battery manufacturers while the plastic casing is ground down
into pellets & sold to plastic manufacturers.
