What Exactly is Internal Marketing?

In today’s permanent white-water environment, more businesses need internal marketing programs to maximize their marketing’s impact. Read on as we tackle some of the more common questions about internal marketing….:

Internal Marketing defined

Internal Marketing is a marketing effort, inside your company’s four walls, that targets internal audiences. Its goal is to increase communications among staff members so that a marketing’s campaign’s effectiveness is maximized.

Why it’s so important

You don’t want to hear your employees say “I didn’t know we were doing that” when they see one of your ads. Internal marketing helps clarify everyone’s understanding of your company’s marketing programs. And the real benefit to internal marketing is that everybody is now rowing in the same direction.

The most common internal marketing programs

• Meetings
• Special events
• Anniversary celebrations/ milestones
• Company anniversary celebrations
• Appreciation dinners
• Brown bag lunches
• Off-site/ satellite offices visits
• Internal newsletters
• Broadcast voicemails
• Bulletin Boards
• Email newsletters
• Intranets
• Broadcast emails
